The coming of Twilight

The first time I have heard/read about Twilight was early this year. And I first hear about Stephanie Meyer (Twilight's author) late last year. All I knew about it was that it was a story about vampires and that it was  book for teens. I didn't pay much attention to it thinking she was just another author trying to be another J.K. Rowling.

I didn't realize that the series (and Stephanie, included) would be such a hit. And with the movie (coming) out, I bet that her novels at National Bookstore would be all sold out by now.

When I joined the conversation at dNeero, I learned that Rob Pattinson, the lead actor in the Twilight movie, was the one who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I didn't recognize him at all! He looks so different. I know someone who thought he (Cedric) was cute...cuter than Harry P. (Oh hi, Aims! hihi.) Actually, I think Rob looks scary and intimidating (Seen his pictures in IMDB?) now. Not the cutsey teenage wizard and Quidditch player anymore.

The movie is not being shown in Davao yet and I will be checking out the bookstore the next time we go.

Have you seen the movie? or read the book? Which one should I do first?

Check out Rob Pattinson and my answers at dNeero.

haven't seen the movie yet, i've read the book though. my suggestion always is watch the movie first. Often, when people read the books first they form certain pictures in their head then get disappointed.

You are so right, Mys. I read the Harry Potter series first before watching the movies. I had high expectations for the movies. I am glad they (movie makers) didn't disappoint. I hope I could say the same for Twilight...I'll let you know!

Twilight is a young-adult vampire-romance novel by author Stephenie Meyer. Twilight was initially rejected by 14 agents, but became an instant bestseller.
