Button, the Beagle, will be having puppies! We don't know the exact due date. It may be anytime this week already.
Her last fertile period was August 10. We were supposed to hire a 'shooter' for Max for that day. But the plan did not push thru. I kept looking out the window hoping that Max and Button successfully mated on their own. But, since I did not see them nor hear them 'do it', I did not expect anything. Besides, Button just turned one last June and it was her first 'period', so I just let it pass.
But, two weeks ago, Papa Wins noticed that Button's tummy was bulging and her teats were starting to enlarge. He said Button IS pregnant and I even disagreed. How could she? Well, apparently, they DID it. LOL! Good boy, Max!
I hope the puppies will be born healthy. We did not call the vet yet...And we will not have Button checked (by Xray) because it might cause more harm than good.
I already prepared her birthing area beside the house, with the help of Tita Baby. We enclosed the entire area by putting the two cages side by side. We left the doors open so that Button could drink from her water bottle. We put rubber mats outside. Hopefully, Button will use that area and not give birth inside the cages. The puppies might fall through the holes!
I have to remember to research on beagle dogs giving birth so that I know when she needs help from me.
On another (doggie) note... Tati, the Pangi Pug, has mites! Dad already ordered medicine for her and I hope they will remember to apply it asap. Poor doggie, she can't reach her back so she tries to scratch it by rubbing against anything. The chair, the table,...even our legs. Urgh! Kawawa. And Boogie, the Pangi Chow, has mange. :( I think he is already being treated for it... Kawawa din.
Hope that the next doggie update will be about the puppies na!
