Huhuhu! Baby Liam fell off the bed this morning.
After his morning bath and feeding, I put him to sleep on the queen-sized bed. He likes to sleep on his tummy, so I positioned him that way and near the wall. Three sides of the bed are bordered by a wall and the headboard. I positioned him perpendicular to the open side thinking he would not get that far when he woke up.
BIG MISTAKE. He did! I was hanging clothes outside beside the bedroom window when I heard him making baby sounds. I realized that he was already awake so I hurriedly went in the house to check up on him. As I opened the bedroom door, I heard him start to cry. Then, I saw him face up on the floor by the bed. My heart stopped beating for a second. Then it began to beat wildly.
I carried him right away and he stopped crying then. I talked to him (and kept saying I was sorry) while checking his head and body for any bruises. I was so relieved that there was none. I also observed him the rest of the day if he was lethargic and vomitting and he was neither, too. (Good thing that we installed those rubber puzzle mats weeks ago. I should remember to add another layer of those mats.)
I should have placed pillows around Liam. I should have known that he would roll over and move all over the bed. I should have, I could have...Hayyy. I learned a very important lesson today. :(
