Great Grandma Dedet is arriving today! The last time she was in the Philippines was when I was still pregnant with Leelai. That was around 2004. R2 was the only kid around then and he was still a baby.
I'm guessing she will be a little shocked to see all her four apo-sa-tuhod (great grandchildren) running about. She will have to start to get used to kids running and shouting again. I will have to tell the kids to take it easy when she is around, though.
We are fetching her at the airport with the whole family at around lunchtime. Then we are going to Pangi for lunch and open the balikbayan box that she brought with her. I am a bit excited to see what she was able to bring home. I ordered a few stuff online and had it shipped to San Diego awhile back. But I already told Tita Cheng to send the package thru cargo so Lola's check-in baggage won't be so heavy. But Tita told me that they already packed in a few items. So...I can't wait...

I just found out last night that I'm going to be a great grandma for the first time..How absolutely wonderful is that!!My first grandchild is going to be a daddy.Seems like just yesterday I held him in my arms when he was born.He and his fiance are a very respomsible,caring couple and have been together for several years.They'll be wonderful parents.I'm so happy and laughed and cried all at the same time when they came to tell me.Being a grandma is so fantastic.This will be even more special.I have 5 grandchildren to love and cherish and now I'll have a great grandchild to go along with them.How very fortunate I am and truly blessed.
Consider buying grandma a Christmas gift that improves the quality of life. Not only are they convenient, they are very well thought out.
