U Comment I Follow

U COMMENT
I FOLLOW

I have just recently joined the U Comment I Follow movement. I have been seeing the badge all over the blogosphere and I finally clicked one to know what it was all about.

It is a campaign to remove "nofollow" tags in the comments section of a blog. The "nofollow" tag was apparently placed to prevent spam. However, with the advent of spam blockers and comment moderation, the method of adding "nofollow" tags to prevent spam seem pointless.

Now, it just prohibits the real commenters from being 'rewarded' for their valuable contribution to a post.

By removing the "nofollow" tags, I am able to share "linky love" and "Google juice" [cute terms, no?] to my precious readers. This means that if you leave a comment, with your URL, this link will COUNT as an inbound link to your site because search spiders can now crawl (or FOLLOW you) to your site.

So, comment away, my friends. If you wish to know more about this movement and get a badge of your own visit Randa Clay. Instructions on removing "nofollow" tags can be found here.

U comment and I follow movement is one of the best moment I have ever come across with. It really encourages the visitors to actively take part in the conversation. It even provides the commentators with benefit of link juice.

When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Bless you!

I support the "U Comment, I Follow" Movement. Comments are welcome and are rewarded with 'linky love'. (You have to comment with your Name and URL for this to work, though.)

Thanks for stopping by.
