It was really hard not being able to acces the computer for 24 hours but I was able to do it! 
And it was worth it, too.
We spent the day at Costa Marina beach resort in Samal Island with my side of the family.
Again, we brought the car and had to cross the bay on a barge. I usually go down the car when crossing like this because I easily get dizzy. But this time, I could not because a bus was parked very close to my door and Liam was asleep. I did not have to, either, since I could see the water from inside the car. It was a quick crossing anyway and before I knew it, we were at Samal already.
Costa's entrance fee is now 120 pesos. And, they have added more cottages since last time we went there in 2006 (?).
When we arrived, the rest of the family were already there and R2 and Gabe were already playing in the sand. I immediately borrowed Aimee's new camera (the Nikon D80) and took a few pictures. Inggit ako!! These pictures were taken using their camera and my SD card. There are more pictures in their SD card and I must remind them to email me copies. (Panoy!?)
Today, Liam finally took a dip in the water! He wore his cute little orange shorts that Papa Wins bought for him. I was glad that he did not get scared of the water. Even when a wave suddenly splashed his face, he did not cry.
Buti na lang din, because the mucus in his nose softened and was expelled easily. Liam also loved the taste of the seawater and he kept putting out his tongue or licking his fingers. LOL!
Leelai and R2 had a great time playing together. It was hard to take a good photo of Leelai. She was too busy playing and did not want to be disturbed. As for Kuya R2, at first did not like to get wet. But after a while, I think he forgot that he did not want to take a bath and swam with the rest of them. Ah, si Gabe...he loved riding on his floater that Lola Dyels bought for him. We think he is like Leelai who loves the water. Good, Gabe!
We were lucky to find a good spot under the big trees. (There were only a few guests in the resort which maybe due to the dark clouds and light rain we had early this morning.)
The kids were able to play and take a bath under the shade. They still had to wear sunblock, though. And Leelai still got darker even with the shade and the sunblock. Liam is still the fairest among us all. Haha!
We are planning on going on another beach outing later this week.
Just trying to make up for the summer when we did not do anything at all.

Paradise Island is probably the most popular resort in Samal Island. But Costa Marina is near by and reputation. Although heaven is being in a crowd of people with their friends.

stupid place alot of fees! even your camera has a corkage 2,000php every move you make there are limited and alot of fees! i hate this place because of there management with no education approach in short professionalism very bad place..if they see you bring beer or RHUM they will charge you again 450php...I will not recommend this one because even the owner has no consideration on the place! I will not back this place forever!

I just booked my vacation to Costa Rica for April and I kind of had the same questions as you do. I looked at tripadvisor.com and read all the revies and then according to that I booked each hotel. I hope I picked the right hotel, but most of the hotels I booked were either a 4 or 5 star and one can only hope that they would be at least ok...what do you think?

Located in Babak, Samal, it can be reached by a 15 minute boat ride from the Sasa Dock Area or better know to the Dabawenyos as the “Paradise Island Dock.......
What would you expect to buy with your P80.00 this day? What if you can own a white sand beach for a day, would you got for it? Costa Marina is perfect if you want an affordable beach resort. Rooms and restaurant had an excellent location right at the beach.
Wah!These are some stunning beaches, but we are seem to have missed out the beaches in Phi Phi islands which were recently voted as the best in the world by lonely planet.
