Hair in Bathroom Wall

"Why do you have hair on your bathroom walls?"

This question was blurted out by SIL Aimee the last time they visited us at home. Yep, I have hair in my bathroom walls. Nope, my walls do not grow hair. It is my hair that has been falling off. And in clumps.

It started about two months ago. I have a habit of squeezing out the water from my hair after I wash it. Recently, when I do that, about 20-30 strands come off. Instead of rinsing them off my hand and causing the drain to clog up, I stick them (the hair) to the bathroom wall. After taking I bath, I collect the hair in a swiping motion and then throw them in the trash. (I just forgot to do that the day my visitors came. My bad!)

Am I worried? Nope.

I read that this is one of the post partum changes that a mommy would normally experience. However, I do not recall having my hair fall out as early as 3 months when Leelai was a baby. I remember starting to have falling hair at 6-7 months post partum. And not that many.

If this 'fallout' continues on until Liam's 6th month, do you think I should start worrying? Papa Wins jokingly offered to contact a San Francisco hair restoration clinic and book an appointment for me. Ha! He should talk. Have you looked in the mirror lately, Papa? Kidding!

But seriously, if you have experienced hair fall after giving birth, at what month did you experience this and how did you cope?

I did. I had to clean the drain a LOT! I wore a lot of ponytails until it went back to normal. The incessant shedding all over my clothes was gross so I never left it down. It's not good when four or five people pick hairs off the back of your shirt at church!

@Ivory: LOL!

I don't want baby Liam suddenly grabbing my hair and getting clumps of it. That's why I wear ponytails all the time. Maybe that's why most of the hair fall occur when I'm in the shower.
