Before returning to Davao from our two-week stay in Manila, we went to Star City Amusement Park in Pasay. We have never been there before. I thought they were only open during the Holiday Season. I was pleased to find out that they were already operational when we were there.
We arrived at the park at 3:30pm. The park was opening at 4pm and there was a small crowd already gathered in the entrance. We did not want to fall in line yet so had merienda at Chowking first.
After eating, most of the people have already entered the park so there was no line anymore. There was a snowman roaming around (promoting the Snow World attraction inside) and we took pictures of Leelai with it using Papa's camera phone (must remember to ask him for it).
Papa Wins and Leelai got the ride-all-you-can tickets (P250.00 each) while I only paid for the entrance (P60.00). I couldn't join them in the rides because I was 4 months pregnant (it isn't obvious yet, I know). We weren't sure if we wanted to go inside Snow World yet so we didn't pay for it right away. We eventually did go in, though. We paid at the entrance and I went in, too. (Don't worry, we were careful that I wouldn't slip.)
Leelai had a great time. The all of the kiddie rides were indoors and it was airconditioned so it was a very comfortable experience for all of us. (It started to rain once we were inside.) The adult/thrill rides were located outdoors and all of it were not operational yet. (I wouldn't ride them anyway even if I could.
Leelai's favorite were the Snow White Antique Car Ride and Little Mermaid Boat Ride. I don't remember if they rode twice or three times. Whenever they go in a ride, I just wait in one of the many benches around the park. Leelai also tried the Kiddie Bumper Cars by herself. She only moved a few feet before giving up. She bumped her head on the steering wheel and didn't want to ride anymore. After that, Papa Wins and Leelai rode the Wacky Dragon. It was a roller coaster ride that kids and adults could ride. I think they rode this twice.

After these rides we went around to explore the place. There were more kiddie rides on the second floor but Leelai did not want to ride any of them anymore. Papa Wins tried the Time Tunnel but he was not impressed. I coaxed him to ride the more thrilling indoor coaster ride -- Blizzard -- but he did not want to. (Scared, maybe? LOL!)
Since they did not want to try the rides anymore, we played a little at the booth games. There were nice prizes like huge stuffed toys that I wanted Leelai to have. But, unlucky us, we did not win any.
About Snow World. It was very, very cold inside. Even with the thick jackets they give you at the entrance. We only stayed for about 5 minutes inside. My glasses started to frost as soon as we stepped inside. There was an ice slide (a feature) but we did not try it anymore. There were ice sculptures but we hardly glanced at them. Maybe if we wore thicker clothing, we would have stayed longer and enjoyed it. Maybe next time?
After a quick dinner of hotdogs and iced tea in their food court, we decided to leave and go to Mall of Asia. On the way out, Leelai and Papa rode the Telecombat Space Ride and Grand Carousel. Both rides left me dizzy just by watching them.
Overall, it was a fun experience. Leelai kept talking about it for days. "Mama, remember when....?" We will definitely go back to Star City the next time we visit Manila. I just hope the rides and the place will still be in good condition when we do.
Here are some more pictures from our trip:
Did you visit Star City? How was your experience?

PS. By the way, I loved the taste of the ice cream being being sold inside. The stall is located in front of Wacky Dragon and I regret not remembering its name nor getting their number. :(
